Orange County

R-i-n-g-g-g…R-i-n-g-g-g….3 am Saturday morning…Rise and Shine…It’s going to be another beautiful day.  The team is up and beginning to prepare for race day that will be at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC a little over 4 hours away.

Upon arriving, the #61 racecar was fast at a track that the team had never visited before.  The team had an excellent 6^th place qualifying run.  This would prove to be useful at Orange County where it was difficult to pass on this 3/8^th mile, high-banked track.  During the first half of the race KC moved up to the top five and was running strong the entire time.  After a caution on lap 70, the first lap back to the green flag as the field of cars came out of turn two KC in the #61 was spun in the middle of the backstretch.  This forced the #61 to the rear of the field and the UARA officials’ black-flagged the other car.  Upon returning to the green flag KC was working his way forward when he was involved in an accident, which would force him to pit under green due to the fender rubbing the tire causing the tire to smoke.  This green flag pit stop resulted in loosing 2 laps.  After all of these events the #61 team finished in the 16^th position.

 “This was a tough weekend for our team since we were running so strong, our finishes are not reflecting how great we have been running. We are going to keep our heads held high and are going to focus on the race in Lanier,GA next weekend,” stated KC after the race.
