Shenandoah Speedway is one of the most beautiful settings that the UARA series visits. It is located between the Massanutten and Shenandoah mountains in Virginia. Throughout practice the #61 racecar proved to be a very stout competitor and the team once again was looking forward to the race. During the warm up laps prior to qualifying, the #61 driven by KC broke the rear axle. This forced him to pull out of the qualifying line and he would have to start the evening’s race at the rear of the field. The team with the help from Brandon Ward’s #98 crew rebuilt the rear end prior to the race. As the 20-car field took the green, KC proved that he would be a competitor that night. By lap 14 KC had made his way into the 12th position and was charging hard. On lap 58 he was in the 9th position. A crash ahead of him caused the cars once again to bunch up. On the restart, in turns one and two, KC was caught up in a wreck that occurred in front of him and was forced to come down pit road a few times to make repairs to the right front fender. He never lost a lap throughout the race. On lap 114 he was back into the 9th position and after the rough and wild race he was able to achieve an 11th place finish. “Our whole team is doing what we need to do. We are all giving 110% but we just cannot seem to get a break. All we are missing right now is a little luck,” stated KC. We are looking for individuals interested in being part of our team. We need crew members and sponsorship. Our next UARA event is scheduled for June 17th at Coastal Plains, NC. The UARA Division is a touring Late Model series their events range from Florida to Virginia all the way out to Tennessee. This is one of the most well run, competitive divisions anywhere combining great drivers with great equipment. For KC Cunningham and/or sponsorship opportunities contact the Cunninghams’ at RACIN68@cox.net. |
